Scrub the soil out. Leave the water out.
We clean with low-moisture encapsulation: a rotary machine scrubs the carpet with dry foam that surrounds the dirt. When it dries, the soil vacuums away. It's a different method from steam cleaning, and we think it's a better one for most homes.
Our 7-step process
Preparation
A walk-through of your home to confirm the rooms and areas we're cleaning. We move smaller items like dining chairs, floor lamps and office chairs, and we'll pick up a few things you didn't get to. We know everyone's busy.
Vacuum
Our industrial-strength commercial vacuum lifts the carpet yarn to full height and pulls out as much dry soil as possible, including the dust pushed along walls, baseboards and behind doors. Add water to dirt and you get mud, so this step is standard with us.
Pre-treat
A dual-action pretreatment, heated to 110–130°F where appropriate. One action goes after the oily soil in high-traffic lanes, the other after everyday spots and spills. It loosens dirt from the yarn before we clean.
Clean
Our 17-inch Powr-Flite Classic rotary scrubber works a gentle but powerful dry foam deep into the carpet with a nylon brush. Scrubbing moves the yarn and reaches all sides of every fiber, down to the backing, with far less moisture than rinsing. Light to moderate foot traffic is fine the whole time.
Rake
Every cleaned carpet is raked with an aggressive nylon pile lifter. It stands the pile up to full height so the carpet looks close to new, keeps fibers from lying flat on each other so it dries faster, and keeps it from drying stiff.
Furniture moving
Small items that can sit off the carpet until it dries, like chairs, lamps and end tables, we move at no charge. Heavy furniture such as beds, sofas and dressers has to be moved, cleaned under and set back while the carpet is still wet, so it carries a per-room furniture moving fee. We don't move electronics, glass or china cabinets, bookshelves, armoires, desks or file cabinets.
Follow-up vacuum
Most carpets dry in a couple of hours. The foam keeps breaking dirt and oil into tiny particles as it dries, so a light vacuum the next day (anytime in 24–72 hours) pulls them right out. That's the only step that's yours.
Step 5 in action: the rake
Every job ends with an aggressive nylon pile lifter. It stands the carpet back up, and it pulls out what vacuums miss.

Why not steam cleaning?
Hot water extraction sprays a lot of water into your carpet and tries to pull it back out. Some always stays behind in the backing and pad. Our dry-foam method uses far less moisture and relies on scrubbing power instead.
